Pay attention to the litter around you. Whenever you can safely do so, JUST PICK IT UP! Imagine the difference we could make if thousands of people did the same. Adopt a zero-tolerance attitude toward litter, treat our entire city with the same care and respect we give our own front lawns, and litter will soon be hard to find.
But it doesn’t stop there, and this is critical. We must become the LEADERS in building a coalition with the City, community partners and all levels of government to find innovative solutions that tackle the causes of litter.
P.A.L. is not simply inviting people to join a movement. Our goal is to bring the entire community together to solve the problem. Repeating group cleanups in the same places year after year are necessary to mitigate the harm caused by litter, but they don’t solve the problem.
Together as one community, one people, we can reach heights previously thought unattainable. “The impossible is only impossible until it’s not!”
